CLAYTON (CBS SF) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.6 struck near Clayton Sunday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor reported at 8:40 a.m. was 4 miles east-southeast of Clayton and 7 miles south-southwest of Antioch, USGS officials said.

The quake had a depth of 7.3 miles, according to the USGS.
