Nothing too complicated about dressing for a DiverseWorks event as the alternative art space and its patrons are an accepting and creative bunch. Whatever feels right works. But there was surely some clever fashion pondering for the "Fashion Fete: Art of the Runway" fundraiser. And few, if any, did it better than interior designer Lucinda Loya.
For this decidedly fashion forward fete, she stepped out in a Clover Canyon strapless top worn over J Brand leather jeans, finished off with Giuseppe Zanotti booties. Her eye-catching hipster accessories included Hermés toggle earrings, BCBG metal necklace, Marc Jacobs cuffs, H. Stern dome ring and box clutch bag by Calvin Klein.

Whether visiting with chichi clients or perusing the posh resources at Decorative Center Houston, interior designer Lucinda Loya favors a sophisticated Boho look that combines designer labels with Target finds and street jewelry with those oh-so-pricy Hermés bags. We found her in just that mode recently perusing furniture and fabrics in the swank David Sutherland Showroom. Her tattered jeans were PRPS from Barney's New York (up close, you can read the Bible verses printed front and back). "I love jeans, I live in jeans," she said. And she always tops them off with a duo of white tank tops from Target.
On this day, the outfit was dressed up with a colorful scarf from Liberty of London and loads of waist-length chains that she picked up from street vendors in New York. In that vein, she said, "I buy anything I see that I like. if I love it, I buy it and make it work somehow."
It was a chilly day when CultureMap ran into Lucinda so she topped her outfit off with a Rick Owens leather/shearling jacket and black Maison Martin Margiela leather and suede boots that she purchased in Amsterdam. The piece de resistance of her ensemble were the two Hermés bags (one Jipsy messenger and one traditional black handbag) and two Hermés Collier de Chien cuffs.
