Baylor women’s cross country finished third and the men’s team finished sixth at the 19th annual Big 12 Cross Country Championships in Lawrence, Kan., on Saturday. In addition, three Lady Bear runners garnered All-Big 12 honors- senior Rachel Johnson, senior Mariah Kelly and sophomore Maggie Montoya.

Baylor cross country travels to Lawrence, Kan. to compete in the 2014 Big 12 Cross Country Championship on Saturday. While Baylor freshman are running the line for a few yards, the Bears’ cross country team will be running much longer distance with two Big 12 (men’s and women’s) title on the line.
The Lady Bears scored 38 points to win the 2014 HyVee Cup at the Drake Relays on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Despite competing without an anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, senior track and field athlete Henry Vildosola finished the Texas Relays in Austin last weekend with five new personal records, and a score of 7,112 in the decathlon event.
Freshman Trayvon Bromell was awarded the honor of Most Outstanding Performer of the 2014 Texas Relays at the 87th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Compared to last year’s 32 event marks, the Bears have 40 event marks among the top 10 and five league-leading marks.
At Wylie High School, Abilene senior Drew Seale was a self-proclaimed “basketball player who ran track.” The dream of following in the footsteps of a long line of Baylor Bears in his family led him to talk to head coach Todd Harbour about walking onto the track team as an 800-meter runner.
“They didn’t think I would do anything, which is fine,” Seale said. “If I saw a walk-on come on, I’d probably think the same thing.”
In the final meet before the Big 12 Indoor Championship, three Baylor Bears broke school records on Saturday at the University of Arkansas’ Tyson Invitational.
