Vandals write ‘rapist’ on Bill Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The graffiti surfaced a day after Los Angeles police announced they would probe decades-old complaints made against the comedian, as long as the alleged victim files a police report. Earlier this week, a woman filed a lawsuit claiming Cosby attacked her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, but it does not appear that she also filed a complaint with police.

Bill Cosby’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame got an unwelcome facelift amid allegations he sexually assaulted more than a dozen women.

An unidentified vandal wrote the word “Rapist” three times on the comedian’s five-pointed terrazzo and brass star located on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed Friday.

“The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees,” the Chamber said in a statement Friday morning.

“When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California State landmark,” the Chamber continued.

“The star is being cleaned up at this time,” the statement said.

The vandalism was first reported by Hip Hop Weekly Magazine.

The news comes after the U.S. Navy announced Thursday that it was stripping Cosby of his honorary title of Chief Petty Officer, granted in 2011.

“The Navy is taking this action because allegations against Mr. Cosby are very serious and are in conflict with the Navy’s core values of honor, courage and commitment,” the Navy said in a statement.

Cosby enlisted in the Navy in 1965 and served for four years as a hospital corpsman before being honorably discharged in 1960 as a 3rd Class Petty Officer, the Navy said.

Nearly two dozen women have stepped forward in recent weeks to accuse the former “Cosby Show” star of sexual misconduct ranging from groping to drugging and rape.

Southern California woman Judith Huth sued him in Los Angeles on Tuesday claiming he molested her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was 15 years old.

She said in her filing that she only recently discovered her psychological injury from the decades-old attack, making it possible for her to file the claim under California law.

Cosby’s lawyers fired back at Huth in their own court filings Thursday, claiming she and her lawyer tried to “extort” the comedian for $250,000 before filing the claim.

The comedian is asking a judge to toss the lawsuit on several grounds, including the claim it did not include a sworn certification from a mental health professional.

Cosby, 77, has refused to publicly address the mounting allegations that have ravaged his wholesome, All-American dad image.

His lawyer Martin Singer has ripped the accusers’ stories as “increasingly ridiculous and ... completely illogical.”
