STOP VIOLENCE AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION ON INDIGENOUS PEOPLE AROUND MINING AREA IN WEST MANGGARAI, MANGGARAI, AND EAST MANGGARAI OF EAST NUSA TENGGARA PROVINCE
On September 13, 2014, there has been violence committed by the unit Sabhara Police of Ruteng and military personnel from the District Military Command 1612 Ruteng on Lingko Roga community, Tumbak sub-village, Satar Punda village, Lamba Leda sub-district, East Manggarai regency. The violence was triggered by the company's efforts, namely PT. Aditya Earth Mining to bring heavy equipment for drilling into customary land owned by the residents (Lingko Roga). The effort got a rejection from residents who have done a posse to maintain their Lingko since September 11, 2013. |
