I have both a Euro Caxton card and a USD Caxton card.

In Europe when withdrawing cash I have alwas managed to withdraw cash from ATM's without any charges. In the USA it is different. (see below - Bad points).

In both the USA and Eurpe Caxton is widely accepted. In the USA Caxton need to make changes if I am going to use it again.

Every attempt I have made would have incurred both bank and ATM owner charges. When I have fund supposedily "free ATM's" on the net they are only free to "bank customers".

Caxton need to make arrangements with a national US bank (e.g. Bank Of Amrica, Wells Fargo ec) in order for customers paying ATM fees. Without such arrangements I will not be using Caxton again in the USA and using a competitor card.

A bit safer than cash.
Much better rates and fees than other cards.
Very good customer service.
Easy to use.

Not accepted by some shops / supermarkets.
Fee for getting cash back if overload, though not extortionate, and presumably still a good exchange rate.
Not such a good guarantee regarding losses, if card lost or stolen, as with other cards.

The website is a little difficult to use and short of info in certain areas eg I wanted some foreign currency in cash. Very little info and was disappointed to find that this was with a third party. My relationship is with Caxton not an anonymous partner

you cant use it at a petrol station. most in france are unmanned and we have to use an english credit card which we then have to pay charges.

I never actually got to use my Caxton card as it didn't arrive in time for my holiday. But I know they are very good and easy to use abroad - hence why I wanted one. And their rates are fair.

Absolutely ridiculous my card didn't arrive in time for my travelling. I ordered it 3 weeks in advance. Everytime I rang up customer service they would tell me it will be there the next day or day after instead of just saying they've experienced problems and it won't make it in time. I was left to sort out a currency card the day before I left for Asia for 3months. And it bloody arrived the day after I had left!! - need to be honest with their customers and have faster delivery.

Brilliant, so quick and easy to use. I should have done it years ago.

Phone calls are quickly answered by extremely helpful polite staff who are happy to resolve any teething problems and put up with dinosaurs like me not being very IT literate.

Ordered the card 3 weeks before travelling to south East Asia and was still waiting for it to arrive the day I travelled! Chased numerous times and told it had been posted and should be with us soon! Had to go with the post office card and sort this out on the day we travelled. Very poor customer service. Would not recommend.

This card really is so easy to use, once received obtain your pin, load money onto it and you are good to go. Safer and convenient to use when abroad. Will definitely be using again and recommending to others! !!

Not really a bad point of the card, but wish I'd realised when in country I was visiting (Turkey) good only draw £'s out in multiples of £50 at atms.
