UGI: Displaced Dunmore residents can return home, gas will be turned onSCRANTON — Senior U.S. District Judge Richard P. Conaboy sentenced an inmate at the United States Penitentiary at Cannaan for his involvement in an assault at the prison.
In February, Johnnie Williams, 36, of Memphis, Tenn., stabbed another inmate with a sharp weapon called a shank, United States Attorney Peter Smith said in a press release. Charges are pending against another inmate who authorities say used a weapon constructed from a lock attached to a sock to attempt to assault the victim before being subdued by correctional officers.
Mr. Williams pleaded guilty to the charge in September. He received 30 months in prison.
