Pecan Lodge barbecue will sell take-away turkeys and brisket this Thanksgiving

(Ben Torres)
This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for smoked meat.

If you don’t feel like cooking on Thanksgiving, Deep Ellum barbecue joint Pecan Lodge will do the work for you — for a price. It’s selling smoked turkeys ($109) and whole briskets ($125), among other items.

Pecan Lodge is known state-wide for its brisket. Jeffrey Savell, regents professor at Texas A&M and a barbecue expert, said Pecan Lodge is “in that top tier of Texas barbecue” at an event before the Deep Ellum shop opened. Our critic Leslie Brenner said the brisket was “pretty outrageously good” in a recent review.

And of course, that brisket is available for those feeling thankful. But don’t forget about the turkey.

If interested, order by Nov. 20 and plan to pick up the day before Thanksgiving. No deliveries, you slouches: Thanksgiving isn’t that easy.

Menu is here.
