Matthew A. Mercuri has been awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree from New York University School of Medicine.

At graduation, Dr. Mercuri received the Hippolyte M. Wertheim Award for attaining the highest scholastic record during the pre-clerkship curriculum.

A 2006 graduate of Scranton Preparatory School where he was the Class Valedictorian, Dr. Mercuri graduated from the University of Scranton in 2010. He was recognized with the Frank J. O’Hara Award for the highest GPA in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University.

Dr. Mercuri is pursuing his residency in neurology at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

He is the son of Magisterial District Judge John J. Mercuri and Cecelia M. Mercuri of Moscow.
