It’s Christmas Eve in Fayro, Texas, and the Futrelle sisters are not in a festive mood. They are the belles of Christmas Belles, presented by Anchorage Community Theatre.

This event includes a silent auction of more than 100 new, gently used and vintage handbags of all shapes, sizes and colors. Starting bids range from $25 and up. Proceeds from this event benefit the Healthy Alaska Natives Foundation.

Previously scheduled for Thursday, this event has been rescheduled for Friday, same time. Exploration Flight Test 1, Orion's first flight, will send an uncrewed spacecraft 3,600 miles into space. As part of the test flight, Orion will return to Earth at a speed of approx. 20,000 mph, generating temperatures near 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit. A system of 11 parachutes will slow it down for a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean after 4.5 hours in orbit.
