The 25th Anniversary of the Exxon Valdez oil spill is an important reminder as to why we cannot let that disaster happen in the Arctic. Join Dan Ritzman, Sierra Club's Arctic Campaign Director and Rick Steiner, a professor and international oil spill expert involved with the Exxon Valdez oil spill clean-up and restoration on Monday. We'll celebrate the fact that the Arctic Ocean will not be drilled this summer, and highlight what we'll do to keep it that way.
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Sierra Club. The live video broadcast will begin soon.

Sierra Magazine's March/April issue features an article on photographer & activist Nick Brandt. While working in Kenya's national parks, he grew to understand the animals were being slaughtered at an astonishing rate. In response, he created the nonprofit Big Life Foundation, which now trains and equips hundreds of anti-poaching rangers in and around Amboseli National Park.

+Stephen Glasskeys and how did the <DELETED!> of get involved there? Bell Labs was largely before her time. That was when Bell Telephone was hitting its stride. Now that   <DELETED!>  might have been involved with AT&T when they were running the same research facility, and even when Lucent had it. But its sad end started well after she was at HP and made a mockery of it.

This Hangout On Air will highlight the toxic pollution and gross over-use of water associated with the rapidly expanding tar sands industry and how it is impacting Indigenous communities. We'll discuss how some companies, as part of their sustainability and risk avoidance efforts, are reducing their reliance on tar sands fuel in their vehicle fleet and shipping operations. We'll also mention what volunteers can do to get involved in the campaign. Speakers will include: Gina Coplon-Newfield, Sierra Club USA’s Director of Future Fleet & Electric Vehicles Initiative, who will discuss a new report on this topic being released this week; Hannah McKinnon, Environmental Defence Canada’s Program Manager who is an expert on this issue; and Crystal Lameman of the Beaver Lake Cree Nation and Sierra Club Canada’s Prairie Chapter Climate & Energy Campaigner.
This Hangout On Air is hosted by Sierra Club. The live video broadcast will begin soon.
