You’ve got Q’s, we’ve got A’s

If your Q isn’t A’d on this page, visit our Help Center.

  1. How do I add a title image to my story?
We’ve updated the editor. You can read about the changes in this post.
  2. Can I see a list of who I am following?
Yes. You can see it on your profile page.
  3. How can my company use Medium?
Read about getting your company started on Medium here.
  4. How do I delete a story or draft?
Navigate to the post and click “Edit” in the top right corner. Click the down arrow in the top right corner, and select “Delete story” from the list.
  5. Can I publish something without having it listed on your network?
Yes. Read about unlisted posts here.
  6. What’s going on with collections and submitting to collections?
Read all about the latest changes here.
  7. What are we trying to do with Medium?
Now that sharing information is virtually effortless, how do we increase the depth of understanding, while also creating a level playing field that encourages great ideas coming from anywhere? We think that words (still) matter, so we built a better system for sharing them. Read more about Medium here.
  8. Can I write on Medium without a Twitter or Facebook account?
No. You can sign up with Twitter or Facebook. If you’ve signed up with Twitter and would like to link to Facebook or vice versa, you can do so on your Medium settings page. For more info, read this.
  9. Can I write in another language?
While we haven’t localized for other languages yet, you may write in whatever language you prefer. You can find non-English collections here.
  10. How do I set up an RSS feed?
You can RSS collections and authors. For collections, add /feed/ to the collection URL in between medium.com and the name of the collection (ex: medium.com/feed/help-center). You can RSS authors the same way, just add /feed/ to their profile URL: medium.com/feed/@ev.
  11. What browsers are supported?
    Read all about browsers here.
  12. Why can’t I write from my phone or tablet?
We haven’t enabled writing from mobile devices.
  13. Do you have a mobile app?
Yes! You can download our iOS app for iPhone or iPad here. An Android app is on the roadmap. You can read more about our app in this post.
  14. Can I repost things that I have published elsewhere?
Of course! Your content is yours to do with as you please.
  15. Can I do a custom hosted domain?
Not at the moment. You can, however, embed Medium stories, profiles and collections on your website. Read more here.
  16. Why do you need to be able to do all this stuff to my Twitter account?
Don’t worry, we won’t ever change your profile, send tweets you didn’t initiate, or follow other accounts. Twitter only offers three levels of access. Our application, and most other Twitter enabled applications, uses the middle level (read & write). This level of permission allows you to Tweet posts you enjoyed without leaving Medium. We also use this permission to allow you to optionally follow @Medium during the sign up process. You can read all the gory details about authentication permissions on Twitter’s developer site.
