VSA Texas presents our 2014 Holiday Art and Gift Show

VSA Texas presents its annual Holiday Art and Gift Show at the AGE of Central Texas Building, Room 101, Austin, TX, 78705. The festive holiday art and gift show runs from November 17 to December 24, 2014. Hours are Monday-Friday, 9:30 am – 5 pm.

Opening Reception: November 20, 2014, 6-8 pm
Artists Reception: December 12, 2014, 6-8 pm

Buy unique gifts and artwork from Texas artists including braille art cards, jewelry, prints, ornaments, crocheted items, and original art. Support artist with disabilities and VSA Texas at the same time. Artists get 70% of sale price and VSA Texas gets 30%. Shop with convenience at this central Austin location.

VSA Texas Side By Side Internship Opportunities

Music and Recording Internship - Spring Break 2015
Application Deadline: January 31, 2015

We are looking for young adults with developmental disabilities interested in the music and recording industry! This internship will take place the week of March 16-20 in Austin, TX. VSA Texas Music and Recording Internship participants will work with professional artists in the music industry through classroom settings, hands-on experience, field trips and performance events. Interns will learn basic performing skills, how to build simple instruments, and how to use equipment such as digital recording technology, microphones and PA systems. The group will create a CD of original music, take a field trip to the SXSW Music Festival, and have an opportunity to perform live at HONK TX, Austin’s 3-day community street band festival. Body Shift is a mixed ability dance project

For over 10 years, Forklift Danceworks and VSA Texas have engaged in the world of mixed-ability improvisational dance. Everyone moves in unique and different ways, and Body Shift offers dance classes for anyone to explore movement and the body. Body Shift creates a welcoming environment that empowers everyone to fully embrace dancing in their own unique way promoting the idea every Body can find enjoyment in contemporary dancing.
