Wiz Khalifa nominated for two Grammys

Wiz Khalifa is a Grammy nominee once again.

The Pittsburgh rapper is a contender for best rap album for his third major label record, "Blacc Hollywood," and best rap song for the single "We Dem Boyz." This is the fourth year in a row that Khalifa has been nominated. He is still waiting for his first win.

Wexford's own Christina Aguilera received a nomination for best pop duo/group performance for the song "Say Something" with A Great Big World.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, under Manfred Honeck, received a nomination for best orchestral performance for its recording of Dvorák Symphony No. 8; Janacek: Symphonic Suite From Jenufa.

The nominees for the 57th annual Grammy Awards were announced throughout the day via Twitter on Friday and nominees for Album of the Year will be revealed Friday night on “A Very Grammy Christmas” special on CBS.

British singer Sam Smith received five nominations so far including song and record of the year for “Stay With Me,” as well as best new artist, along with Iggy Azalea, Haim, Bastille and Brandy Clark.

Mercer native and Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor is nominated with Atticus Ross for best score for the "Gone Girl" soundtrack. They won for "The Social Network" in 2011.

Best New Artist: Iggy Azalea, Bastille, Brandy Clark, Haim, Sam Smith.

Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: Iggy Azalea feat. Charli XCX, "Fancy"; Coldplay, "A Sky Full of Stars"; A Great Big World with Christina Aguilera, "Say Something"; Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, "Bang Bang"; Katy Perry feat. Juicy J, "Dark Horse."
