Parker, Tarrant and Wise Counties Area Injection Well Data

The following data was requested by the Railroad Commission of Texas from oil and gas operators in northeast Parker County, northwest Tarrant County and Southeast Wise County on May 6, 2014 to share with academic researchers conducting studies to assist in understanding whether or not oil and gas operations may be related to recent seismic activity observed in area.

Injection Well Data Formats

Note: Conversion of the data and choice of conversion tools is the responsibility of the user.

The first type of files are standard Microsoft Excel and Word files including injection pressures and volumes for the specific injection wells organized by date. Some files include embedded graphics and others do not.

The second type of file is an LAS (Log ASCII Standard) file as described by the Wikipedia article included below.

Log ASCII Standard (LAS) is a standard file-format common in the oil-and-gas industry to store wellbore log information. Well logging is used to characterize subsurface stratigraphy in a wellbore.

A single LAS file can only contain data for one wellbore, but it can contain any number of curves for that well. Common curves found in a LAS file may include gamma ray logging, sonic logging, or resistivity logging.

Restrictions of the LAS format mean that all the data must be saved in the same sampling interval. This usually is not an issue with most log curves.

The third type of file is a pdf (Portable Document Format) file with various text or graphics elements as described by the Wikipedia article included below.
