The hardy souls who put on their backpacks and hike from one end of the Superior Hiking Trail to the other have to plan very carefully to make sure they get enough water. Habitat Restoration Project Underway on St. Louis River Estuary

A major habitat restoration project is beginning in the St Louis River Estuary at Radio Tower Bay. When complete, the $4 million project will restore 30 acres of important shallow sheltered bay habitat by dredging and removing 85,000 cubic yards of woody debris deposited by historic sawmill operations. Dredging is being performed by a barge stationed in the bay, and is expected to last until Nov. 15. Read More
