Brief: men’s basketball falls to No. 25 Arkansas

The Mean Green men’s basketball team lost to the No. 25 University of Arkansas 89-73 Friday night on the road.

North Texas (4-2) kept the game close for most of the night and were down by just two, 38-36, at halftime. The Mean Green took a 55-54 lead with 11:57 left to play. However, the Razorbacks (5-0) went on a 9-0 run to pull away from the Mean Green. The team couldn’t respond and ended up not being able to pull off the upset on the road.

Senior guard T.J. Taylor led all Mean Green scorers with 16 points, and also had six rebounds to go with four assists. Senior forward Jordan Williams added 15 points.

Next up, the team will be on the road to play Oklahoma State University on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
