Did Arizona Cardinals' Darnell Dockett really live tweet jury duty?

The defensive end claims to have ordered pizza as he tweeted from court. But was it all an elaborate joke?

With the recent disciplinary problems of NFL players, it’s a pleasing novelty to see one of the league’s athletes on the right side of justice. So maybe it’s of little surprise that the Arizona Cardinals defensive end Darnell Dockett has decided to live tweet his way through what appears to be jury selection. Even if they’re part of an elaborate hoax on Docket’s part – and some of the tweets are a little far fetched – the results are as entertaining as anything John Grisham could come up with, and a little more profane.

It’s fair to say that Dockett isn’t a willing juror:

Damn I got jury duty today!!! Fuck! I'm not the one for this.. 😒

And he wasn’t particularly impressed by his fellow jurors:

The crazy part is the people who doing jury duty with me has already made there mind up on this guy & the situation. So do I really matter?

It also appeared that Dockett already had a few opinions on the trial:

I'm the wrong guy to be put on jury duty. Dude is innocent in my book. It's all he say and she say. I wish I could talk to the guy.

And the whole process made him feel pretty hungry. Luckily, help was on the way:

I'm going back into this discussion, brb! Pizza on the way. Gonna look at the details more, and give my opinion. They ask me to speak. 😳wtf

The arrival of the pizza didn’t bring an end to Dockett’s problems though:

Hold up!!!!!!! I think I'm gonna get kicked out!! For my comment saying "yall had this guy guilty no matter what" and my pizza is here!🍕

Dockett wasn’t just concentrating on one case though:

A lot of people N court today. I just saw a guy get 21yrs and he walked out like a G. He wasn't trippn at all and smiled. Jewelry heist!💍💎

Dockett would be available for duty as he is currently on injured reserve but while many media agencies reported Dockett’s reports as genuine, there were a few things that didn’t quite add up. For example, are you really allowed to have pizza delivered to you in court (according to his Twitter timeline the pizza took two hours to arrive – it’s not like a courthouse is hard to find)? And would officials be OK with a potential juror wandering off into another courtroom to inspect bald spots:

I just walked in to another court room . Look at this guy ball spot.. He should be getting judged too!! #guilty pic.twitter.com/mkO5gQ79YU

The case continues ...
