Dr. Caldicott Tells of Fukushima’s Lethal Toll and Meeting Ronald Reagan

The great Dr. Helen Caldicott graced the Solartopia Green Power & Wellness Show this week with her unique assessment of the health effects of Fukushima and the rest of the nuclear power industry.

She tells us about what’s happening to the renewable industry in Australia, and why Dr. James Hansen needs to reassess his views on atomic energy.

“Nuclear Power Plants are cancer factories and bomb factories … because any country that has a nuclear reactor makes 500 pounds of plutonium a year and you need 10 pounds to make an atomic bomb … so the nuclear power industry in this country in its wisdom and in Japan, Canada and elsewhere is selling nuclear reactors as fast as it can … and they will have enough plutonium to make enough atomic bombs for the next half a million years … cause that’s how long the plutonium lasts …,” said Dr. Caldicott.

Then she shared one of modern American history’s most critical episodes. In the early 1980s, during the global campaign for a nuclear freeze, Helen met Patty Davis, the daughter of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Davis figured that Dr. Caldicott might be one of the few people who might reach her father about the dangers of nuclear war.

So she brought Helen to the White House. Dr. Caldicott quickly sized up the President and determined to treat him “like a patient.” He was already showing early signs of the Alzheimer’s disease that would eventually claim him … and much of his second term in office.

For more than an hour Dr. Caldicott talked with the world’s most powerful about what atomic war might do to the human race. It was, she said, a uniquely long meeting with our oldest president.

produced from any of the primary energy sources (fossil fuels, nuclear
energy, and renewable energies). But nuclear hydrogen, because of its
characteristics, will be expected to supply the base load.

800 Degree Heat From Solar Mirrors Frying Birds Mid Air

he FWS had said wildlife mortality and injury at ISEGS may have been
underrepresented because of inadequate searches for injured and dead
animals, and it suggested ways to make those searches more thorough.

The panel – the Avian & Bat Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) – met in Nipton, Calif., on May 20, where it dismissed several FWS recommendations.

ISEGS is a solar thermal power generator
that uses arrays of mirrors, called heliostats, that reflect and
narrowly focus solar heat to “power towers” filled with water. The
focused solar heat reaches a temperature of 800 degrees Fahrenheit,
boiling the towers’ water to generate electricity.

Dead and
injured birds have been found at the plant site, having been burned,
evidently by the reflected solar heat, or with other injuries because
they evidently failed to recognize the mirrored heliostats as solid
surfaces, much the same way that birds crash into windows.

The purpose of the May 20 meeting was to assess
whether ISEGS presents a hazard to birds flying nearby and, if so, what
could be done to mitigate the hazard. The TAC agreed to one FWS
proposal, using specially trained dogs to find bird carcasses within the
site’s borders.

The planet needs humans to deploy energy generation methods that are cheaper than coal. Solar and wind will not replace coal power plants. Gas and nuclear replace coal. Solar and Wind are backed up by gas, and in the US that gas is frack gas.
