    White birch (Betula papyrifera), Clinton County, within the Burns Run Wild Area of Sproul State Forest.

    The wild area is noted for its steep, heavily forested slopes and many cascading streams in a remote mountain setting accessible only on foot. The watershed of Burns Run, a tributary of the West Branch Susquehanna River, is protected here.
