Boards and commissions are an established feature of Denton's municipal government.  They offer citizens an opportunity to participate in the City's governmental process.  Their influence and value are significant because they lend a more diverse viewpoint for the City Council to consider.

Boards and Commissions Directory

Basic Qualifications:  Each member of a board or commission shall be a qualified voter of the City.  Each member of a board or commission shall not be in arrears on any City taxes, utility service charges, or other obligations owed the City.

If you are interested in serving on a board or commission, you may fill out an application and fax it to (940) 349-8596 or mail it to the City Secretary's Office at City Hall at 215 E. McKinney, Denton, Texas 76201.  All applications are retained for two years, so if a vacancy occurs on the board you are interested in, your application will be reviewed by the Council.  Any questions regarding boards and commissions can be e-mailed to the City Secretary at citysecretary@cityofdenton.com
