John Ryan was elected in May 2014 to fill an unexpired term in District 2.
John moved to Denton in 1983 to attend NTSU (now UNT) majoring in Mathematics and Physics. Over the next ten years, he lived in Denton and surrounding towns. In 1994, he married Carol Anderson and they moved to their current home in District 2 in 1995. John had started working for Walker Engineering (Encompass) in 1991, and on the heels of them closing their doors, John and Carol started their first business in 2002. Since then, they have grown to multiple companies including Vigne Wine Shop & Cigar Bar in downtown Denton, Limerick Property Management, plus several commercial and multi-family properties.
