Check out These Winter Visitors in Texas State Parks

Whooping Crane

Like Winter Texans, many species of birds head south in search of a warmer climate. Winter is a great time to grab your binoculars and go birding in a state park. One must-see Winter Texan is the endangered whooping crane (pictured). These large, dramatic birds live along the Texas coast, near Goose Island State Park. Many other bird species spend winter in Texas, including green-winged teals, yellow-bellied sapsuckers, American white pelicans and snow geese.

Palmetto State Park

However, there's much more to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area than 'just' the rock."
