The celebration started at Love Field with Southwest CEO Gary Kelly on hand to take boarding passes and speak alongside Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings.
With free t-shirts and donuts being handed out the event marked a new chapter in the city and Twitter was abuzz to celebrate with everyone on hand.
