The "original" Carolina Ale House restaurant located on Creekside Drive off of Wake Forest Road in Raleigh will be closing at the end of December as the restaurant's ownership group prepares for the opening of its new flagship location in downtown Raleigh in January.

Lou Moshakos, president and owner of LM Restaurants and the Carolina Ale House chain, says the closing of the Creekside Drive restaurant, planned for Dec. 31, "makes the best business sense."

"We all have emotional ties to 'the original', but we know the new downtown location and the Falls of Neuse location will happily accommodate those guests who have been loyal to Creekside for the past 15 years," he stated in a news release.

Carolina Ale House also has a location at 4512 Falls of Neuse Road about two miles north of the Creekside location. Creekside Drive, which opened in 1999, was the first Carolina Ale House in a portfolio of sports bars that has grown to 25 locations.

LM Restaurants plans in January to open its newest Carolina Ale House location in the Triangle on the top floor of a new three-story building under construction at 500 Glenwood Ave. in downtown Raleigh's Glenwood South district. An official opening date has not been announced.

Mike Liedberg, vice president of Operations of LM Restaurants says that all managers and employees at the Creekside location have been offered jobs at other area Ale House locations.

"Ultimately everyone who wanted to stay with the organization was offered a position," he stated.

Hiring has also begun for the new downtown Raleigh location. Applicants may apply online at www.LMRest.com/JoinTheTeam.
