Every week in the Milwaukee Business Journal's Friday edition we take a closer look at a person who has been promoted, hired or named to a board position in the Milwaukee seven-county area. This week's focus is on the naming by the United Performing Arts Fund of Isaac Roang to the position of co-chair of Next Generation UPAF.

Roang is a senior associate attorney at Quarles & Brady, Milwaukee, and his practice focuses on commercial real estate.

Some information was published in the Dec. 5 weekly print edition. Roang's complete answers are featured here.

Education:"I earned a bachelor of music degree, specializing in French horn performance, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a (law degree) from the Georgetown University Law Center."

What attracted you to this new opportunity:"I am honored by the opportunity to take on this new role on the Next Gen Council and collaborate with my fellow co-chairs, Renee Johnson of We Energies and Annmarie Molina of Northwestern Mutual. The enthusiasm of the entire Next Gen Council and UPAF staff is contagious and has made the decision an easy one. I am also fortunate to have the support of Quarles & Brady, which has a strong history of volunteerism by its attorneys and staff and has been a proud supporter of UPAF."

Thoughts on your position:"The performing arts have made a profound impact on my life, due in no small part to the vibrancy of the arts community. Next Gen is an exciting opportunity for younger professionals to assist UPAF in its efforts to support the performing arts in southeastern Wisconsin and to lay the foundations to sustain and strengthen this support for generations to come."
