Monta Ellis Hit A Nutso Game-Winner For the Mavs Last Night

Monta Ellis, volume-scorer extraordinaire turned straw that stirs the Mavericks drink, hit a ridiculous spinning, off-balance fadeaway to beat the Bucks at the buzzer Wednesday night. Unfair Park thinks that's a thing you should see.

The celebration afterwards was almost as good as the shot itself, check out Mark Cuban and a suited-up Dirk getting in on the fun.

Great shot. But I hadn't noticed before this that Milwaukee's court is now reminiscent of the old MECCA court. Very cool.

Monta have it all.

Monta Ellis is an All- NBA player, an All-Star. The guy is flat out cold blooded, willing to take the last shot and as Harper put it "Be the hero or the goat. He's a bad man".

Great teams need a player such as Monta to be great.

Thanks Donnie, thanks Mark, for taking the chance on this guy and bringing him to play for our team.

If people like basketball, if they are not following this current Mavs team they are missing out. They are fun to watch and a pleasure to cheer for.

@mavdog  You left out that Rick Carlisle is 1 of the top 2 coaches in the NBA right now.  I think he and Popavich go back and forth on who is the best on any given night.

Carlisle is one of the best in the game, absolutely. Yet, even as big a homer as I am, saying he is better than Pop is a tough claim...Pop has that handful of rings.

Carlisle is able to work with a player like Monta, who has been given certain , uh, negative labels in other situations, and get the best out of them. props to Carlisle for a wonderful job understanding the person and how to get the best out of them..

Monta talks about how he had become disillusioned by the situations he was in before, and how happy he is to be here, how much that means to being able to perform like he has. That speaks to the greatness of Carlisle.
