Midway through her pregnancy, Deidrea and T.K. Laux discovered their unborn son would be born with trisomy 13, a genetic disorder that would give him only a few hours of life outside the womb. They decided to continue their pregnancy, and experienced the joy of new life coupled with the the pain of loss. 

To help other families facing similar grief and encourage wider support for perinatal and pediatric hospice services, the couple invited Dallas Morning News reporter Lee Hancock and photographer Sonya N. Hebert to chronicle their journey in this book, which includes powerful photos and videos.

This story has inspired hundreds of families who experienced the couple's strength as they showed their love for their son and each other.
