Founder of WhiteBox Learning to speak in January at Venture Connectors

The Venture Connectors luncheon in January will host Graham Baughman, CEO and founder of WhiteBox Learning, a STEM education company that has developed software applications for middle and high school students.

The next Venture Connectors luncheon in January will host Graham Baughman, CEO and founder of STEM education company WhiteBox Learning LLC.

He will discuss how his company helps students pursue science, technology, engineering and math careers, according to a news release.

Venture Connectors is an organization that works to connect entrepreneurs, investors and others to increase the amount and quality of business ventures in the Louisville area. It hosts the monthly entrepreneur and investor forum at the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville. The next luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

WhiteBox Learning has developed software applications for middle and high school STEM classes used by more than 100,000 students in 700 schools, the release said.

Baughman, who was president of Thorntons Inc. before founding WhiteBox Learning in 2010, will explain how the company's web-based platform uses 3-D engineering and gaming to teach students critical thinking skills, according to the release.
