Another former employee in Zillow Inc.'s Irvine office has sued the company; this time, a 41-year-old woman is suing for age discrimination and illegal termination.
The Orange County Register reports that Jennifer Young, 41, was forc ed to stand and make cold calls for hours, and prohibited from sitting down despite her physical injuries from an earlier car accident.
In the suit, Young alleged she was told "are you too old to close?" and "try to keep up with us."
Zillow spokeswoman Jill Simmons had this response to the latest lawsuit:"It is clear that the narrative being pushed by this law firm through their multiple lawsuits is completely inconsistent with those who know and work with Zillow. We take any allegation about our workplace very seriously and are investigating these claims. We don't tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind. Our people are our greatest asset. The behavior described does not accurately depict our culture or the 1,200 Zillow employees who work hard and treat each other with dignity and respect. It's incredibly important to us to create and maintain a work environment that is safe, comfortable and inclusive for everyone."
This is the second lawsuit this week filed by someone who worked in Zillow's (NASDAQ: Z) Irvine office: Rachel Kremer sued the Seattle online real estate company for sexual harassment, claiming male supervisors "ranked her according to her breast size, sent pictures of their penis to her and demanded sexual gratification and obedience by Ms. Kremer to continue her employment."
