Burns Run Wild Area (12)

Broken views through the forest near Owl Run, Clinton County, along the Chuck Keiper Trail in the Burns Run Wild Area of Sproul State Forest.

The ravine containing Owl Run holds a lot of visual interest. Boulders are scattered throughout the ravine; rhododendron forms dense pockets along Owl Run; hemlocks, northern hardwoods, ferns, and thick masses of moss line the steep slopes; and this time of the year, the leafless deciduous trees permit glimpses of the deep canyon formed by Burns Run.
