The 15,000-square-foot Salem College Student Center, designed by Lambert and built by Frank L. Blum Construction Co., was the first new building in 32 years on the campus of the nation's oldest continuously operating institution for women. It cost $6.8 million and was dedicated in May.

Lambert also won an "outstanding design" award for the Duke University Power House building, a historic warehouse structure in the West Village district near downtown Durham. Constructed in 1926 as a power plant for the Liggett and Myers Tobacco Co., it now houses Duke's Talent Identification Program in 27,000 square feet of office and multipurpose space.

Founded in 1989, Lambert employs 18 professionals and provides architectural, planning and interior design services throughout the Southeast.
