As construction continues at Bloomington, Ill.-based State Farm Insurance's new regional hub at the massive CityLine development in Richardson, the insurance company is looking forward to moving into the four-building campus.

"The new environment provides a lot of natural light for employees along with bright colors and contemporary furniture," said Terri Reynolds, State Farm's administrative services director, in a statement.

Reynolds added that the floor layouts are expected to encourage collaboration and teamwork to meet current and future customer's needs. The live-work-play concept of CityLine will help State Farm become an employer of choice and recruit new employees.

State Farm plans to bring up to 8,000 employees into the new regional hub and have been holding job fairs to hire those employees. This summer, State Farm doubled its Dallas-Fort Worth workforce to 5,000 workers.

So, how does this construction project measure up? Here are some stats on the four office towers:

  • The State Farm footprint will total 3.9 million square feet upon completion of the four towers by Dallas-based development firm KDC
  • 1.1 million man hours went into the construction of CityLine in the past year
  • CityLine's State Farm towers include 137,000 cubic yards of concrete
  • The four towers already have 15,200 tons of steel
  • On average there are 1,000 workers on the job site each day
  • The State Farm buildings will include about 1,000 miles of electrical wire
  • The four towers include 3.15 million linear feet of metal studs that could stretch from Dallas to El Paso
  • State Farm's towers will include 3.6 million pounds of cable

"Our decision to occupy facilities like CityLine is based on business area needs and what we need to best meet customers' needs and expectations," Reynolds said.

Three of the four State Farm towers are expected to be complete in 2015, with employees moving into the new regional hub upon the completion of the massive construction project.
