The MetroPCS Dallas Marathon has every pair of legs it can handle for the full marathon, half marathon and the Behringer Relay, selling out Thursday.

The race weekend is scheduled for Dec. 13 and 14. The Cigna Mayor's Race 5K presented by Oncor, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13, has limited availability.

"With a full participant field, we expect to deliver an exceptionally memorable race day for all runners and spectators who participate on Sunday, Dec. 14," marathon President Patrick Byerly said in a statement.

In mid-November, the organization sold out of the full marathon participant slots after Byerly said the Dallas Marathon had "extremely strong" runner interest this year. Last year, the Dallas Marathon was cancelled after a freak ice storm hit the city.

Race organizers are encouraging fans and spectators to line the streets of Dallas to cheer on the thousands of runners. The proceeds of the race weekend benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

Along with the sellout races, Dallas Marathon organizers are also hosting American record holder and Olympic medalist Deena Kastor, who signed a multiyear partnership agreement with the MetroPCS Dallas Marathon as an elite ambassador. The marathon has signed a few elite ambassadors onto the race.

Kastor will pace 18-year-old high school senior and a foundation participant Nick Figuroa. This is Figuroa's second half-marathon attempt.

Candace covers commercial and residential real estate and sports business.
