The Fresh Market is gearing up for the Dallas debut of its specialty grocery store.

The North Carolina-based company will open its first store in Dallas at 8 a.m. Dec. 3 at 7311 Gaston Ave. in the Arboretum Village.

The 24,000 square-foot market will include a bakery, full-service meat counter, more than 300 imported cheeses, a produce department that will boast more than 400 items and a large organic selection.

The interior is designed to pay homage to European markets.

There are only three other Texas locations, all of which are in Houston. It's planning to open a location in Southlake Park Village shopping center and Turtle Creek Village.

The Fresh Market is a publicly owned company that was founded in 1982.

It currently has more than 130 stores in 25 states and aims to stock its stores with local produce, seafood and groceries.
