Thursday evening found the Charlotte Business Journal's 2014 class of Fast 50 honorees gathering at the NASCAR Hall of Fame uptown, as they awaited the big reveal.

This awards program highlights the Charlotte region's fastest-growing companies, ranked according to financial performance. Accounting firm CliftonLarsonAllen evaluated companies' nominations using a formula that reflects dollar and percentage growth during a three-year period to determine the rankings.

Honorees were not informed of their ranking prior to the event, making for an exciting celebration during the countdown to No. 1.
