The Charlotte Business Journal on Thursday unveiled the winners of its 2014 Fast 50 Awards — the fastest-growing private companies in the Charlotte region.

The Fast 50 businesses were selected and ranked by average revenue growth from 2011 to 2013. To qualify, companies had to have at least $1 million in revenue in 2013 and be based in the Charlotte area. The numbers were analyzed and verified by CliftonLarsonAllen, a Fast 50 partner.

CDI Southeast tops the Fast 50 list, with 269% average revenue growth from the preceding three years. CDI Southeast is an IT consulting company that focuses on integration and support of virtual data-center infrastructure by providing managed hybrid cloud services. This is CDI Southeast's first year on the Fast 50 list.

DC74, an owner and operator of data centers, moves up one spot on the list to No. 2 with 246% average revenue growth from 2011 to 2013.

This year's diverse group of winners include some multi-year honorees, such as Costner Law Office, a law firm ranked No. 3, and RBC Utilities Inc., a utility contractor ranked No. 4.

Twenty of this year's honorees were not on last year's list. So who are they? The accompanying slideshow reveals the complete Fast 50 list, ranked by average revenue growth from the preceding three years.

Profiles of the top winners are featured in the Dec. 5 print edition of the Charlotte Business Journal, with an expanded online section here. Subscribers can view the full list online.
