Anniston-based NobleBank & Trust is expanding into Birmingham and has tapped Magic City veteran banker Paul Rogers as its area market president.

The $176 million-asset bank plans to open its first local branch, which will be located near The Summit across from Leaf & Petal, in January.

Rogers, who has more than 24 years of commercial banking experience, most recently served as the Birmingham regional president for Aliant Bank, where he oversaw the bank's presence in the local market and its commercial banking team since 2010.

Rogers began his banking career at SouthTrust Bank in Birmingham and then later worked at Highland Bank and Red Mountain Bank.

Rogers said the bank has already established more than 400 clients in the Birmingham market and is in the process of hiring team members for the branch.

NobleBank has four existing branches in Alabama, located in Anniston, Alexandria, Oxford and Piedmont.
