BWI named healthiest airport for restaurants

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport tops this year's list of airports with the healthiest dining options, according to the Washington-based Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
The ranking says 92 percent of the restaurants at BWI offer at least one "cholesterol-free, plant-based, fiber-packed meal." BWI moved to No. 1 this year\ from No. 4 last year. BWI also tied Newark Liberty Airport for the most improved airport this year.
Reagan National Airport ranks No. 4 on this year's list, with 90 percent of its restaurants offering healthy alternatives. Dulles is No. 9, with 80 percent.
The physician's nonprofit says 75 percent of restaurants at the nation's busiest airports offer at least one healthy option, up from 57 percent in 2001.

- Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (tie)
- Denver International Airport
- San Francisco International Airport
- Dulles International Airport
- Boston Logan International Airport
