Dell having 'a lot more fun' now

Michael Dell talked about the benefits of going private to a packed crowd at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York this week and reported that the company is growing.

"I feel absolutely great, even more convinced [buying the company back and taking it private] was the right thing to do," Dell told the crowd, according to an article on CNN.com.

While he still believes there's "an important role" for the stock market, according to the article, Dell lamented how regulations like Sarbanes-Oxley force boards to spend too much time on "backward-looking activities."

Dell owns about 75 percent of Dell Inc., and since buying the company late last year in a blockbuster deal Bloomberg has estimated that Mr. Dell and his partners at Silver Lake Management LLC have gains on paper so far of at least 90 percent.
