Atlanta Habitat for Humanity President and CEO Larrie Del Martin will retire March 31, 2015 after 18 years leading the organization.

Martin helped usher in an extensive education program for Atlanta Habitat homeowners. When Martin began her work, only 12 classes were offered each year. Now there are more than 100 classes provided annually, helping owners maintain their homes, manage personal finances, and provide civic leadership in their communities. Other milestones include a green-building program, in place since 2004, and the 2001 opening of Atlanta Habitat's ReStore.

Martin also guided three successful capital campaigns totaling more than $22.5 million. Most recently, she was instrumental in raising $12.8 million to purchase 5.3 acres on Memorial Drive and develop permanent headquarters for Atlanta Habitat. The organization moved into its new home in September, debt-free and poised to serve even more families for years to come.

"Larrie Del's legacy to this city and area can be felt every time you see a revitalized neighborhood or drive down a street that needs attention," said Brantley Barrow, Atlanta Habitat's board chair. "If she hadn't already made an impact, she had her eye on the possibility. We honor not only her many accomplishments but also her relentless vision of the pride and security of home ownership for all working families."
