TEXAS MONTHLY OIL AND GAS STATISTICS

JULY PERMITS TO DRILL

The Railroad Commission of Texas issued a total of 2,419 original drilling permits in July 2014 compared to 1,843in July 2013. The July total included  2,200  permits to drill new oil and gas wells, 38 to re–enter existing well bores, and 181 for re–completions. Permits issued in July 2014 included 761 oil, 134  gas, 1,422 oil and gas 78 injection, one service and 23 other permits.

JUNE CRUDE OIL PRODUCTION

Texas preliminary June 2014 crude oil production averaged 2,157,001 barrels daily, up from the 1,678,008 barrels daily average of June 2013.

The preliminary Texas crude oil production figure for June 2014 is 64,710,024 barrels, up from 50,340,234 barrels reported during June 2013.

JULY OIL AND GAS COMPLETIONS

In July 2014, operators reported 1,958 oil, 234 gas, 73 injection and eight other completions compared to 1,860 oil, 470 gas, 49 injection and five other completions in July 2013.

Total well completions for 2014 year to date are 18,101 up from 15,124 recorded during the same period in 2013.

Operators reported 302 holes plugged and zero dry holes in July 2014 compared to 75 holes plugged and zero dry holes in July 2013.

JUNE NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION

Texas oil and gas wells produced 602,891,617 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of gas based upon preliminary production figures for June 2014 up from the June 2013 preliminary gas production total of 554,513,067 Mcf. Texas preliminary June total gas production averaged 20,096,387 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) a day.

Texas production in June 2014 came from 161,487 oil wells and 92,551  gas wells.
