TEXAS MONTHLY OIL AND GAS STATISTICS (Revised)

MAY PERMITS TO DRILL

The Railroad Commission of Texas issued a total of  2,389 original drilling permits in May 2014 compared to 1,931 in May 2013. The May total included 2,160 permits to drill new oil and gas wells, 51 to re-enter existing well bores, and 178 for re-completions. Permits issued in May 2014 included 698 oil, 129 gas, 1,505 oil and gas, 46 injection, one service and ten other permits.

APRIL CRUDE OIL PRODUCTION

Texas preliminary April 2014 crude oil production averaged 2,043,461 barrels daily, up from the 1,607,390 barrels daily average of April 2013.

The preliminary Texas crude oil production figure for April 2014 is 61,303,820 barrels, up from 48,221,702 barrels reported during April 2013.

MAY OIL AND GAS COMPLETIONS

In May 2014, operators reported 2,057 oil, 323 gas, 78 injection and 12 other completions compared to 2,395 oil, 521  gas, 62 injection and ten other completions in May 2013.

Total well completions for 2014 year to date are 13,729 up from 10,427 recorded during the same period in 2013.

Operators reported 359 holes plugged and zero dry holes in May 2014 compared to 131 holes plugged and zero dry holes in May 2013.

APRIL NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION

Texas oil and gas wells produced 562,820,900 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of gas based upon preliminary production figures for April 2014 up from the April 2013 preliminary gas production total of 538,662,626 Mcf. Texas preliminary April total gas production averaged 18,760,697 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) a day.

Texas production in April 2014 came from 160,934 oil wells and 87,809 gas wells.
