FRISCO – You've heard of Thanksgiving and Black Friday, but how about "Giving Tuesday?"

A mom in Frisco got a major surprise on Tuesday's day of giving from Frisco Family Services and Frisco Automotive. News 8's Monica Hernandez has more on the story.

Tuesday, people around the world were coming together to give back, and North Texas is no exception.

A single mom received a big surprise Tuesday morning.

Alesia Seraile thought her sister was just running an errand when they pulled up to Frisco Automotive. She never expected that she would be taking home a car.

It'll make a big difference for the single mom who fell on hard times.

Seraile was forced to choose between owning a car and feeding her kids when medical issues meant she couldn't work for eight weeks. Now, the refurbished vehicle is a sign that her at least one of her struggles is over.

The mom had just returned to work and had been relying on family and friends to take help her get there.

Frisco Family Services selected Seraile out of more than 1,000 families. She had turned to the non-profit for help in the last several months and the organization was touched by her story.

"To be able to help a family gain their self-sufficiency - which is really tied to their dignity - is such a wonderful opportunity," said Frisco Family Services Executive Director Nicole Bursey.

Frisco Automotive refurbished and donated the Toyota RAV4.

Seraile and her 9-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter couldn't be more thrilled.

"It means everything to me. It's amazing that somebody was nice enough to think of our family," she said. "There are so many other families that could probably use this, and I was blessed enough to have it. Just really blessed. Everything hit, one after another -- now, to have a car? It's awesome. it's a good feeling."

Frisco Automotive also donated a year of insurance and Frisco Family Services provided the family with gift certificates and other holiday gifts.
