Eastbound 183, Loop 12 closed after crash damages bridge

IRVING -- Eastbound highway 183 and northbound Loop 12 were completely closed down Friday afternoon after a semi hit the 183 bridge.

The accident damaged three crossbeams on the bridge.

Traffic is being directed onto frontage roads and drivers can expect major delays, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. TxDOT and bridge inspectors were on the scene Friday afternoon.
