Guided by our award-winning Green Port Policy, we are reducing harmful air emissions from port-related operations, improving water quality in the harbor, protecting marine wildlife and implementing environmentally sustainable practices throughout the Port.

 Twenty shipping lines were honored today by the Port of Long Beach for efforts to improve air quality locally by slowing down or deploying cleaner vessels – or both – at the annual Green Flag and Green Ship awards.

|  A Port of Long Beach funded tree-planting initiative to cut greenhouse gases kicked off Feb. 23, at Silverado Park. "I Dig Long Beach – 6,000 Trees by 2020" began with the planting of 50 trees in the park and adjacent John Muir Elementary School. Watch video from the event.
