Pat LaFrieda's slow-cooked crane-lifted, 1,000-pound steer at Meatopia X: The Carnivore's Ball.

Good weather again welcomed the New York City Wine & Food Festival on its return to midtown, where the weekend's three meatiest events, the "Blue Moon Burger Bash," "Jets + Chefs: The Ultimate Tailgate," and "Meatopia X: The Carnivore's Ball" sated thousands of hungry revelers on the roof of Pier 92. And while Landmarc chef Marc Murphy's and Burger & Barrel chef Josh Capon's burgers took home the top prizes Friday night, and Pat LaFrieda's slow-cooked crane-lifted, 1,000-pound steer were the most coveted eats of the weekend, celebrity chefs and NFL icons drew swarms as they ate their way, station to station, including Rachael Ray feeding her husband John Cusimano, and Jets legend Joe Namath who spent Saturday afternoon's tailgate party jostled about by security. Maybe more satisfying than those endless plates of ribs, sausage, and steaks, was the opportunity for die hard football fans to boo Jets owner Woody Johnson to his face. And they did.
