• 91% of respondents of the most recent bi-annual Citizen Survey, conducted in 2011, listed sidewalks as a topic of high importance.
• This project will improve existing sidewalks by constructing gaps and missing segments in order to increase pedestrian connectivity.
• This project will also increase safety and security by eliminating the need for pedestrians to enter unsafe areas while walking or running.

• Gaps and missing segments in sidewalks will be constructed in order to connect existing sidewalks--over 13,000 linear feet beginning in January 2013
  • 1,140 linear feet of sidewalk have been installed as of March 2013 
• 8-foot long sidewalks were constructed along the length of each deceleration lane between Pearson and Commerce St--completed FY 2012.
• Southlake Blvd. Priority Sidewalk Locations:
  • North side of FM1709 from North White Chapel Blvd to deceleration lane in from of Bicentennial Park
  • North side of FM1709 from Diamond Blvd. to White Chapel Blvd.
  • North side of FM1709 from Mendez Development to Foxborough deceleration lane
  • North side of FM1709 from Foxborough Lane to Diamond Blvd. deceleration lane
  • South side of FM1709 from Harris Methodist to Miron deceleration lane
  • South side of FM1709 from Davis Blvd to Players Circle
  • South side of FM1709 from Chick-fil-A to existing sidewalk at Georgetown Park and continuing to Nolen Dr.

Transportation Enhancement Funding

On July 29, 2010, the Texas Transportation Commission selected Southlake's application for sidewalks along Southlake Blvd. for Transportation Enhancement funding.
