This week, restaurateur Pat Snuffer quietly opened his new restaurant Pat’s and Mike’s. The neighborhood bar and grill comes from Pat Snuffer, his son Mike Snuffer (hence the “and Mike’s” part) and the Snuffers’ longtime partner Steve Cole.

Pat Snuffer is no longer involved with the Snuffer’s burger chain that still carries his name; the existing Snuffer’s restaurants are run by a company called Firebird Restaurant Group. Meanwhile, Snuffer has spent the past few months working on Pat’s and Mike’s. (He considered the name Pat’s Burger & Cheddar Fries but abandoned the idea late last year after a lawsuit was filed by Firebird.)

Pat’s and Mike’s serves pizzas, baked potatoes, burgers, salads, sandwiches and cheesy fries. Snuffer’s is famous for his cheddar fries, of course, but Snuffer said Pat’s and Mike’s fries are different: They come with an option of roast turkey, chopped brisket or other meats on top.

The bar has 20 beers on tap and 36 tequilas.

Pat’s and Mike’s is located at Preston and Frankford roads, where Battuto Italian Kitchen was. For now, it’s open for dinner only, beginning at 5 p.m., Snuffer says.
