Taco Sal has been on the corner of Eubank and Menaul for as long as I can remember. Their New Mexican food is homemade right down to the fresh pinto beans made daily to their hot New Mexico green chile and they have the most delicious sopapillas. Yum-0.

My friend's family owns this restaurant....I know that it was yucky before, but I haven't tried it since they bought it....They make really good food at their home! lol

I grew up at this restaurant. My family and I ate here at least once a month (if not more) from when I was born until I moved to the other side of the city in my 20's. I still remember Sal herself saying "Hi Doll!" every time someone walked into the restaurant. It irritated me at the time, but I miss it now. I remember when it was just a one width restaurant with about 15 tables. When they expanded to the shop to the east the food started going down hill. That's when I stopped going. I've not been for years, but every once in a while I get a craving for fresh pinto beans, awesome guacamole, and the crunchiest tacos I've ever had in Albuquerque, and I think "I should go back to Taco Sal and see if they have improved."
Do they still give the kids DumDum suckers out of the donkey piñata?
